The Spirit of Cruising @ ADONIS PROJECT

Ian MacKinnon and Travis Wood hosted the hottest (literally and figuratively) performance art venue in Los Angeles on Sept. 13, 2014 at Human Resources Art Gallery in Chinatown/Los Angeles. I created a moving installation piece called "The Spirit of Cruising" in which I coated my body in silver and glitter appearing as a sort of ghost/apparition of the gay men who used to cruise the infamous Adonis Theater movie house. Throughout the evening I wandered around the venue, mostly staying in the shadows as the audience moved about the space to view installations and performances. I lured folks into the back alleyway for intimate performances which varied upon audience participation. Here are a few photos from that evening.

Someone called this photo a play on the Wizard of Oz, with Robert Babish as the Scarecrow, David Parke Epstein as the Cowardly Lion, Robert Patrick as the Wizard, my silver as the Tin Man (appropriate as that was the first role I ever played in high school) and R. SKY Palkowitz as a punk Dorothy!

Performing James Broughton at San Francisco Art Institute

Excited to have been invited to perform "ECSTASY FOR EVERYONE: A Theatrical Celebration of the Poetry & Art of James Broughton" at the San Francisco Art Institute on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 8pm in the SFAI Lecture Hall.

It's free and open to the public and a sublime honor to be performing on the same stage that many renown performance artists have stood and most importantly for me the same stage that James Broughton lectured while teaching. I am absolutely thrilled!
